Privacy policy — your data is safe with us

Data protection is a matter of trust and your trust is important to us. We respect your privacy and personal sphere. The protection and legally compliant collection, processing and use of your personal data is therefore an important concern for us. To ensure that you feel safe when visiting our websites, we strictly observe the legal provisions when processing your personal data and would like to inform you here about our data collection and data use.

Scope and purpose of data processing

Anonymous data collection

You can visit our site without providing any personal information. We only store so-called “server log files”, access data without personal reference, such as the name of your Internet provider, the Internet browser you use, the page from which you visit us, the date and time of your access or the name of the requested file. These data are evaluated exclusively for the improvement of our offer and do not allow any conclusion on your person.

This anonymous data is stored separately from any personal data you may have provided and thus does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about a specific person. They are evaluated for statistical purposes in order to be able to optimize our Internet presence and our offers. The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the “server log files” is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the collection of data for the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session has ended.

Collection and processing of personal data

If you wish to use a service of our company via our website, it cannot be ruled out that the processing of personal data will become necessary. If there is no legal basis for the processing of personal data, we will obtain the consent of the data subject. This will be apparent at appropriate points. This may be required when you register on our website, request our newsletter or when contacting us via our contact form. The legal basis for processing operations where we obtain consent from you for processing purposes is in accordance with Art. 6 I lit. a) DSGVO. If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract or the initiation of a contract (e.g. for the delivery of goods or the provision of such services, or in the case of inquiries about our products and services), the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 I lit. b) DSGVO.

We store and use the personal data provided by you, such as name, company, address, e‑mail and telephone, for the purpose of individual communication with you in accordance with the German Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the “BDSG-neu”. Please note that generally no confidential information should be sent via the contact form.

The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted in the course of sending an e‑mail is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. If the e‑mail contact aims at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO.

Cookies

Among other things, our website uses so-called “cookies”, which serve to make our Internet presence more user-friendly, more effective and more secure — for example, when it comes to speeding up navigation on our platform. Cookies also enable us to measure, for example, the frequency of page views and general navigation. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. We would like to point out that some of these cookies are transferred from our server to your computer system, most of which are so-called “session cookies”. “Session cookies” are characterized by the fact that they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session. Other cookies remain on your computer system and allow us to recognize your computer system on your next visit (so-called permanent cookies). Of course, you can reject cookies at any time, provided that your browser allows this. However, we would like to point out that in this case not all functions of our website can be used to their full extent. When you access our website, you will be informed about the use of cookies for analysis purposes and your consent to the processing of personal data used in this context will be obtained. In this context, a reference to our privacy policy is also made. The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technically necessary cookies is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies for analysis purposes, if you have given your consent, is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

Google Analytics

We create pseudonymous usage profiles with the help of Google Analytics for the needs-based design of our websites. Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your terminal device and can be read by us. In this way, we are able to recognize returning visitors and count them as such. The data processing is based on your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of these web pages is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, since we have activated IP anonymization on our websites, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA (an adequate level of data protection exists according to Art. 45 (1) DSGVO through Google’s participation in the Privacy Shield) and only shortened there. We have concluded a contract with Google Inc. (USA) for order processing in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO. Google will use all information strictly for the purpose of evaluating the use of our websites for us and compiling reports on website activity.

You can revoke your consent at any time. Please use one of the following options to do so:

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the websites (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link.

You can additionally prevent collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which permanently prevents the future collection of your data when visiting these websites.

Google Fonts

We use so-called web fonts to improve the design of our website. To integrate these fonts, an external server of Google is accessed, whereby your IP address is transmitted to these servers of Google. The servers may be located in the USA or other servers outside the European Union. Google is Privacy Shield certified, so that an appropriate level of data protection is ensured during transmission. According to its own statement, Google does not use your IP address to track your activities, but only to statistically evaluate the use of fonts. Google does not draw any conclusions about individual visitors. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Plugins use

Integration of third-party services and content
It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, are integrated within our pages. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interests (interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO). This always requires that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) perceive the IP address of the users. Because without the IP address, they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is thus necessary for the display of this content. We endeavor to use only such content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. However, we have no influence if the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. Insofar as this is known to us, we inform the users about it.

Publication of job advertisements/online job applications

Your application data will be collected and processed electronically by us for the purpose of handling the application process. If your application is followed by the conclusion of an employment contract, your transmitted data may be stored by us in your personnel file for the purpose of the usual organizational and administrative process in compliance with the relevant legal provisions. Pursuant to Section 26, Paragraph 1, Sentence 1 “BDSG-neu” in conjunction with Article 88, Paragraph 1 DSGVO, data protection law permits the collection of data that is required for the establishment of the employment relationship. If you voluntarily provide us with things about yourself that go beyond what is necessary, this is done in the context of consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO. Within the scope of processing, your data may be transferred to persons within our company, as well as service providers who are contractually bound and obliged to maintain confidentiality and who perform partial data processing tasks.

The deletion of the data transmitted by you will take place automatically two months after notification of the rejection if your job application is rejected. This does not apply if longer storage is necessary due to legal requirements (for example, the duty of proof under the General Equal Treatment Act) or if you have expressly consented to longer storage in our database of interested parties.

Data subject rights

According to the Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), you have the right to free information about your stored data. Furthermore, you have the right to information about the purposes of processing, categories of personal data that are processed, recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed (especially in the case of recipients in third countries or international organizations), if possible the planned storage period of the personal data, a right to rectification, restriction (blocking) or deletion of this data, as well as the origin of the data. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In addition, you have the right to revoke your declaration of consent under data protection law at any time. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.

Data portability

You have the right to receive your personal data originating directly from you. Upon your explicit request, we will provide this data in a machine-readable and structured format. Proof of your identity is required for this purpose.

Deletion and blocking of personal data

The deletion and blocking of your personal data takes place after the purpose limitation has ceased to apply, insofar as they are no longer required for the fulfillment of the contract or the initiation of the contract, taking into account retention periods based on laws and/or tax regulations.

Contact possibility

We offer you the possibility on our site to contact us by e‑mail. In this case, the personal data of the user transmitted with the e‑mail will be stored. This is also the necessary legitimate interest in processing the data. The data will not be passed on to third parties. A comparison of the data collected in this way with data that may be collected by other components of our site also does not take place. The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO if the user has given his consent. The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted in the course of sending an e‑mail is Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. If the e‑mail contact aims at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose for which they were collected.
